Noah spent a couple of days with his grandparents last week and Grandpa Wade got some good bath time pictures.

On Thursday we took advantage of some beautiful Fall weather and headed out to Lynd Farms in Pataskala to do some apple picking. In addition to stuffing 14lbs of apples into a 10lb bag, we had some fun taking some shameless pictures of Noah in the little displays they had set up.

On October 11th we dedicated Noah to the Lord and committed ourselves to raising him in the Lord in front of our church family at Grace Church Powell.

Once again Nate and I hit the road to catch the Iowa – Penn St. game and once again the Hawkeyes knocked off the Nittany Lions. What a game. Thanks to the Zucks for the tickets and the ride out!

Wade, Sharon and I ran the Labor Day 5k at Worthington Hills Elementary School. My time was 23:56. I had been shooting for 25 min. so I was really pleased with my time. Wade and Sharon did great in their 5k walk. All in all, a great Labor Day morning.

Mike, Noah, and I traveled to Tuppers Plains, OH, where the Rice family gathered for our family reunion. The Rice family dates back a zillion years, and the family land is located on Rice Run Road (named after our family, of course). The farmhouse still has the logs in the walls from the log cabin homestead from forever ago. I totally forgot to take a picture of the house though… My Great-Uncle John was born in that room, and his mother was born in that room. It’s a great place to explore! Here’s a few pictures from the trip.

On our way back from vacation in North Carolina, we realized that we would be driving past the Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande, Ohio. Noah really wanted to go and see it, so we made a small detour.

In July the Hoefer clan gathered at a YMCA camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Activities included Christmas in July, a climbing tower, a cookout and board games. Here are some pictures.

On our way to a family reunion in North Carolina, we stopped in Lexington, KY to spend the night. We got to the hotel early enough for Noah to enjoy his first swim. He seemed to like it quite a bit, even though the water was a bit cold.

At Christmas I did the Karhan family photos. Overall, I was pleased with the result, but I did learn one valuable lesson: Leave enough room on the edges to crop for an 8×10!
