Columbus Half Marathon

Last Sunday (10/18) I got to run the Columbus Half Marathon. It was a beautiful, brisk morning and the 13.1 mile run through downtown Columbus, Bexley and German Village was gorgeous. There were live bands along the way and tons of people came out to support the runners – 15,000 in all.  Aside from some [...]

Apple Picking

On Thursday we took advantage of some beautiful Fall weather and headed out to Lynd Farms in Pataskala to do some apple picking. In addition to stuffing 14lbs of apples into a 10lb bag, we had some fun taking some shameless pictures of Noah in the little displays they had set up. Enjoy!

First time for everything

My 27 year streak of no stitches ended this morning with a crash. I was shaving and had just leaned over the sink to splash water on my face when I got cracked on the head by a light fixture that had fallen from the ceiling. Our bathroom has one of those globes that cover [...]

Reinforcements

Let me describe yesterday for you:

Emily was severely under the weather, with a fever, chills and aches
Noah is only a week and a half and is still figuring this whole eat/sleep/repeat routine
The outside temperature was approaching 90 degrees and our air had been broken since last Friday
We had our third and fourth visits from our [...]

Warning: Baby may be Hazardous to your Running

Quick non-Noah post here…
I went out running tonight for the first time in a week. My goal was 4.5 miles and I barely ran 3. Still, it was good to get out and run. Here’s the run:

I also bought a computer today. Mine is 4 years old, the hard drive is completely full and the [...]

First trip out

Yesterday Noah took his first trip out, since he came home from the hospital. We went to the doctor and he had a great checkup. He’s already gained back 2 oz. since he left the hospital. Of course, he responded to the good news by promptly filling his diaper on the spot. Good boy.
After the [...]

Bath Time

Here’s Noah’s first bath here at home. I think that bath time is pretty much his favorite.

Weekend Update: Ultra Road Trip Edition

This past Friday we hopped in the car and headed out for LaMoille, IL. The plan was to spend a fun evening with Chris and Erin in Indy, try to arrange lunch on Saturday with my cousin and his family in Bloomington, IL and then drive up the road an hour to my aunt and [...]

Home

Just a quick note that we are home again. I'll write a longer recap including all the things we have to be thankful for with our car situation, but for now, if any of you are reading this (hi mom and dad!) we weren't stranded long and had a great time this morning with Zion [...]

Stranded Again

It wouldn't be a McCaman road trip if we didn't have some sort of car trouble and get stranded in some random town. Last time was a deer in Van Wert, OH. This time it's an oil pressure switch in Richmond, IN. On our way to Indianapolis last night we broke down around 6:30pm, called [...]
