Just in time
A number of months ago we lost our DVD/VCR remote. Figuring it would just turn up somewhere odd at some point we didn't think to much of it. The days turned into weeks and months and still no remote. We eventually gave up hope of finding it anywhere and resigned ourselves to standing up and […]

Back from Madison
I'll post more about the weekend with pictures later, but we are back from our weekend in Madison, IN. We had a fantastic weekend celebrating our 2nd anniversary. It was the perfect combination of relaxing, reading, sleeping, walking and eating, and a bit of TV since we don't have cable at home :-)
It's been a […]

Impromptu Party
What do you get when you meet the Artrips at Mardi Gras ice cream, and head over to their place only to find that the Spoelstras and the Milkes had the same idea? A crazy, impromptu party that kept Malachi up half the night, that's what. Fun times over at the Artrip household last night. […]

Reading in the park
Yesterday was a gorgeous day so we headed out to the park to eat some lunch and read. I finished Made to Stick and Emily read Jane Eyre. She's on a classics kick lately and has also finished Pride and Prejudice and Emma. Made to Stick is a great book. It dissects ideas that "stick" […]

Coupon Queen
We've blogged about this before - how Emily gotten into the world of couponing and deal shopping and actually begun dominating this way of life. Last night, however, sealed the deal. Emily is the Coupon Queen of the entire universe. I told her that I was going to do breakfast with a guy from church […]

More birthday fun
Emily's parents, Wade and Sharon, came down to spend the weekend and the birthday fun continued. If I tell you the lineup of restaurants, it's pretty embarrassing, but we really did eat pretty much all weekend long…a good variety of lots of good food. (Hence my run today.) We also watched a ton of Olympics […]

Weekend at the Westin
Emily's birthday is coming up on Tuesday (Aug 19) so I decided we should celebrate a bit early and head downtown for the night. I got a great rate on a room at the Westin through Hotwire (so far we are 2 for 2 on Hotwire) and surprised Emily with the plans.
We ate fabulous dinner […]

Nike+ Crisis Averted
A quick trip to the Apple Store yesterday got me a new Nike+ system and I am in business. I have to say…it's really sweet!
After my inaugural run, Lance Armstrong congratulated me and told me it was my longest workout to date. Thanks Lance!
Expect more running posts now, complete with links to my Nike+ page […]

More like Nike Minus for now
Last night I got a new pair of running shoes and I was excited because I finally got a pair that is Nike+ compatible.
I got home, set everything up and for whatever reason the receiver couldn't detect the sensor in my shoe. I tried all kinds of different things, but nothing worked. Guess […]

Asado
So, it's been a while, eh? June 30th since our last post. Oh well…rather than a bunch of lame excuses and promises of more posts, I'm just gonna pretend nothing happened. (Tina, this is for you)
Tonight we hosted our International Dinner Club at our place and had an asado with 13 people. Emily is […]
