Save the cheerleader, save the world
Em and I are completely addicted to Heroes. We kind of stumbled upon it by accident. We subscribed to Netflix the other day and I was browsing around the Instant View section. I decided to check out Heroes and we've been hooked ever since. It's amazing. We have three episodes left of Season One. I'm hoping we can knock those out tonight.
I don't know why, but the previews on TV never really sucked me in. I never thought, "Man, I have to watch that show." In fact, I kind of had the opposite feeling. I thought it looked sort of stupid and exaggerated.
Why do networks do such a poor job in marketing their shows? Back when Arrested Development started I saw the previews and thought again, "That looks really dumb." A few years later, after it had been canceled, some friends loaned me the DVDs (thanks Nate and Deb!) and I couldn't stop watching. It was hilarious, the best comedy I've ever seen.
It's really hard to know what is going to be good and what is going to be stupid. A couple years ago, after Arrested Development, everyone started working on other projects. NBC had this new show called Twenty Good Years. I decided to give it a shot, since Jeffery Tambor was in it and I loved his work on A.D. It sucked. It only lasted 8 episodes on TV, and about 7.3 minutes for me.
All that to say, Heroes rocks and TV on DVD is one of the greatest innovations in recent history.
Save the cheerleader, save the world.

wow, really? maybe i’ll have to check it out sometime. i, too, have always viewed it as quite cheesy and overdone. but next time i get the hankerin to be addicted to yet another show, i just might give it a thought.

I love this show too! I’ve been watching it since it came out and it is still one of my favorite current shows. Glad you two are in on the fun now. SMILE
